Mindfulness for Everyday Living
What is Mindfulness?
This is the practice of bringing attention to the present moment on purpose with out judgement. Sounds easy & some days it is. Then there are the other times when we get caught up in the busy-ness of our lives.
In my classes, I give examples of outcomes from scientific studies that show how mindfulness can change our brains for the better & enrich our lives.
We also get to try different mindfulness techniques that start training our brains to bring awareness to what is going on right in front of us. Some practices are sitting, standing or walking. Everyone can participate & learn.
There are formal practices that are purposeful and timed & then there are informal practices that may only take seconds just to notice & become aware.
We may focus on the breath, the body or all our senses. Sometimes it's just one of these or it could incorporate all of these.
These practices improve memory, mood, concentration & resiliency.
